Privacy notice
Draft for review. A plain-English starting point, not legal advice. Check it against what you actually collect.

This notice explains what snapt'in collects, why, and who it's shared with. snapt'in is run by Guy Smithson, 5 Hope Street, Knaresborough, HG5 8BG, who is responsible for your data. Contact: info@snapt.in.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in and to send sign-in links and box invitations.
- What you put in the app: your recipes, notes, ratings, photos, meal plans and the boxes you belong to.
- Photos and links you import, so the recipe can be read from them.
- Emails of people you invite to a box, so the invitation can be sent.
- A record of changes in shared boxes (who added, changed or removed what), so box owners can see what happened.
- Basic technical data your browser sends, such as your IP address, used to keep the service secure and to limit misuse.
- Payment details, if you subscribe, are collected by Paddle, not by us. We receive your subscription status, but never your card details.
We don't sell your data, and there are no advertising trackers.
Why we use it
To provide snapt'in to you and the people you share with (our contract with you); to keep it secure and stop misuse (our legitimate interests); and to manage subscriptions (contract).
Who processes it for us
- Supabase: stores your account and app data.
- Vercel: hosts the app and this website.
- Anthropic: reads recipes from the photos and web pages you import. They're sent only when you ask for a recipe to be read.
- Paddle: takes payments and handles tax for subscriptions, as the merchant of record.
- Google (Google Workspace): sends sign-in and invitation emails, and handles email sent to info@snapt.in.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK, and data may be processed in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards in each provider's data processing terms, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Your data is kept while you have an account. If you delete a recipe, it's removed. Ask us to delete your account and we'll remove your data, except anything we must keep by law. Shared boxes you belong to stay with their other members.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Email info@snapt.in. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
